During periods of approaching deadlines and overtime hours spent in the office, I find myself challenged with the work-life-balance. A week ago I’ve noticed this strong craving inside for downtime. I felt burned out and started thinking about how to tackle this ‘issue’ I created for myself: Too many hours at work, little time for friends and – also little time for myself.
I had to remind myself that little moments of relaxation go a long way. I started collecting beautiful moments on my phone: pictures of our succulent garden, silly pictures of funny dogs, DIY inspiration pictures and any picture that made me happy. The little things that ignite our joy are so important. I think that we all come to a point where we find it challenging to juggle the demands of our job and our life. In these moments it is important to remind yourself of what really makes you happy. Here are my personal 10 keys to happiness:
1.) Live minimally. // 2.) Treat everyone with kindness. // 3.) See problems as challenges. // 4.) Don’t sweat the small stuff. // 5.) Speak well of others. // 6.) Exercise. // 7.) Choose friends wisely. // 8.) Nurture social relationships. // 9.) Eat healthy. // 10.) Accept what cannot be changed.
