Time for a PRINT STATEMENT dress. Feeling all bubbly and happy when wearing this dress :) Oversized Graphics in White on black background have caught my eye very frequently these days! This dress is a lucky Vintage find. 2 weeks ago a close girlfriend of mine had organized a Girls’ Sunday with Mimosas and a trip to SHAREEN VINTAGE in downtown. This place has an excessive collection of 60ies, 70ies and 80ies dresses in the most outstanding prints, color combinations and embroideries you can possibly imagine. To give this Vintage dress a modern twist, I added a JCREW Coral belt, my new ALEXANDER WANG ankle strap pumps and a bright pop of color with my ZARA suit jacket.
It’s Saturday afternoon in LA right now and I’m finishing the last specs and sketches for work before heading to China tomorrow! Whoop – let the travel begin :)
These days I’m very busy prepping for my business trip to China which I will endeavor on this Sunday. I somewhat feel like a big leave in stormy weather, being high on my single cup of coffee in the morning to keep me 150% productive throughout the day. (I’m trying not to splurge on too much caffein during these intense days to prevent my fingers from shaking in the afternoon. LOL) So far it’s been going well and I’m really looking forward to packing my key items on Saturday. I’ve traveled so much in the past four years that my packing has turned into a very organized routine. 3 pairs of pants, 10 tops and T-shirts, 12 silk dresses (since I love to just throw on simple outfits that don’t take up too much thought process in the morning) 2 blazers, 2 dozens of undies, 3 pairs of sandals, 2 pairs of high heel sandals, … and so forth. Not to forget my travel trench coat and scarf cause you never know when the next thunder storm might hit you on China mainland.
My outfit above: ZARA skirt / H&M mesh top / HELMUT LAND sandals / JCREW earrings
I’m in love with LEOPARD CALF HAIR gladiator sandals!! This pair is by Charles David and won’t be in stores til end of July. So here you go: A little sneak preview for the upcoming fall collection launch :) From my humble point of view, these sandals look best when the outfit gives them the opportunity to stand out. So I paired this leopard dream with an all black outfit and statement Gold necklaces to give the leopard that touch of TRIBAL that it deserves :)
Happy Wednesday night! XO, Kathrin
CHARLES DAVID sandals / ZARA mesh skirt and black dress / AMERICAN RAG sunnies
A rather casual outfit to dive into a sea of yellow flowers.
In my mind I’m already on the airplane to Germany. I haven’t been home for 2 years, so I can’t wait to see my family again at the beginning of July! First, I’ll be going on a business trip to China and then I’ll fly directly to Europe. So excited that I’m dreaming of the German countryside. Time for me to go back to my Euro roots :))
RAG&BONE hat / BCBG top / ZARA skirt / CHARLES DAVID Italian booties
Having a big crush on anything aztec, graphic and safari-inspired. This stretch mini skirt elevates any outfit into the tribal corner which I’m loving so much lately.
This week I’ve been very focused on the pre-fall/resort collection on style.com. My favorites so far are Chloe, Cedric Charlier, Piazza Sempione, Philosophy, Carven, Preen and No.21. I should post an inspiration collage soon. Feeling so inspired ;)
VINCE white T-shirt / ZARA nude suit jacket / CELINE tote / CHARLESDAVID heels / KATE SPADE earrings
This was my first business trip to NY. I merchandised the footwear collection for Spring 2014 and had a really successful time in our show room. The roof top view from the 43rd floor of the Parker Meridien hotel was so stunning. Central Park doesn’t look small seen from the top at all.
This city attracts a vast amount of ambitious, fashionable people with its cute restaurants, great career opportunities and stunning retail stores! I will definitely come back soon, NY, I love you!
The moment I laid my eyes on this oversized T-shirt by HANDKERCHIEF, I was smitten. The Black Graphic lines are made out of multiple layers of black mesh and add an athletic touch to this outfit. I love the juxtaposition of this sporty top with the ethnic printed skirt.
HANDKERCHIEF top / CHARLES DAVID heels and clutch / vintage skirt
Marc Jacobs is the master of light weight, fun summer dresses. I love the Aztec-inspired & colorful print of this dress. It matches the orange wall in the background perfectly ;) In three weeks it’s the official beginning of summer in the U.S. and I’m prepping my wardrobe by placing the winter booties back in their boxes and moving up the dresses to the front row of my closet.
Summer, I’m ready for you!
MARC BY MARC JACOBS silk dress / WALTER STEIGER pumps / J.CREW earrings
A touch of dotted navy silk by EVER clothing and new earrings by J.CREW can lighten up the first day in the office after a long and relaxing memorial day weekend. For the past six months I’ve been pretty much obsessed with J.Crew’s Creative director Jenna Lyons. I love her down-to-earth attitude, her tremendous achievements in re-branding this fashion power house and her laid-back California-inspired dress code. The juxtaposition of a simple t-shirt with a colorful printed skirt always stands out and inspires me.
In an interview at Parsons new design school in NY, Jenna said ‘A woman can never have enough white shirts nor colorful statement suit jackets.’ – she’s so damn right about that! :) She looks so fierce in her blue suede pointed Manolo pumps in the image below. Timeless. You’re my style icon, Jenna :)
Have I mentioned that the Calfornian Flora makes me so happy? In May you can find the most vibrant blossoms at pretty much every corner. The ‘Royal Trumpet Vine’ is very common in Los Angeles and easily takes over entire electricity masts. Let the jungle take control :)
GAP trench coat / H&M owl t-shirt / ZARA red pants
