Have I mentioned that the Calfornian Flora makes me so happy? In May you can find the most vibrant blossoms at pretty much every corner. The ‘Royal Trumpet Vine’ is very common in Los Angeles and easily takes over entire electricity masts. Let the jungle take control :)

At the beginning of this week I was tempted to tone down by outfit to a fuss-free palette of graphic black and white with small touches of leather. Eternally elegant in chic monochrome with a nude accessories and dramatic red lips.
This summer season is celebrating this simple but powerful color pairing: B/W comes in stripes, dots and check. I’ll have to expand my wardrobe into Black and White patterns soon!

I’m back from my 2-week business trip to China. It feels so good to enjoy the L.A. sunshine again! Above you see my latest necklace Design. I love the Nappa laser cut lace under the contrasting turquoise stones. This statement necklace looks best on an all-white canvas such as my outfit ;) I added another touch of orange to the outfit by adding the Zara suit jacket.

Turning night into day seems to be my thing these days. Sleep deprivation pushes me to high levels of creativity. Thursday night, knowing that I would have to work early the next day, I endeavored on this colorful pencil skirt project, starting at 9pm. I was about finished at 2am.
I found this amazing silk fabric at MOOD FABRICS on La Brea. The fabric is by Vera Wang and I was mesmerized with it when I first laid my eyes on it. I’m so thrilled that the big MOOD fabric store has finally opened its doors in January this year. Their selection of prints, silks and cottons is the best in town.
Hope this Design-it-yourself project is inspiring to you ;)

During periods of approaching deadlines and overtime hours spent in the office, I find myself challenged with the work-life-balance. A week ago I’ve noticed this strong craving inside for downtime. I felt burned out and started thinking about how to tackle this ‘issue’ I created for myself: Too many hours at work, little time for friends and – also little time for myself.
I had to remind myself that little moments of relaxation go a long way. I started collecting beautiful moments on my phone: pictures of our succulent garden, silly pictures of funny dogs, DIY inspiration pictures and any picture that made me happy. The little things that ignite our joy are so important. I think that we all come to a point where we find it challenging to juggle the demands of our job and our life. In these moments it is important to remind yourself of what really makes you happy. Here are my personal 10 keys to happiness:
1.) Live minimally. // 2.) Treat everyone with kindness. // 3.) See problems as challenges. // 4.) Don’t sweat the small stuff. // 5.) Speak well of others. // 6.) Exercise. // 7.) Choose friends wisely. // 8.) Nurture social relationships. // 9.) Eat healthy. // 10.) Accept what cannot be changed.
What is your most important key to happiness?

I’ve been very intrigued with statement summer prints lately: Two motives that I’ve repeatedly been attracted to are the lobster (first seen at TIBI in white on coral background) and the pineapple in repeat prints for Spring 2013. Oversized prints bring so much happiness to any wardrobe :) Try to hunt for some lobsters and pineapples to add a splash of fun ;)

HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL OF YOU <3
I have re-discovered a favorite uniform of mine – The burberry-inspired trench coat paired with black shorts. Always a winner for a casual day in the office ;)
What’s your latest favorite go-to uniform?

After a little break I’m back with a striped outfit post :) Over the weekend I’ve been relaxing dressed only in a bikini in our hammock. It has been a well-deserved break from consumption, communication and LA traffic.
Wishing you all a very happy middle of the week! :)

This colorful outfit might be the most colorful outfit ever seen on 6footone. Below you see some street style inspiration images from HANELLI on how she’s matching her pants to her colorful tangerine jacket. To top of the color statement, I invested in some new SUMMER earrings. A pair of bright colored earrings can add a touch of summer to any outfit! Have you gotten some bright earrings yet?
